We are now looking for a Student Assistant with experience in Python to work in our Data Analytics Team. Depending on where you study, you will work from either our Copenhagen or Aalborg office. The role will provide you with deep insights in the engine room of energy trading.

The Data Analytics team within Centrica Energy Trading is responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality model and tool development that supports multiple trading desks

  • Overseeing the vast amount of data available for trading and translating that into actionable insights.

The Job role:

You will be required to produce high quality increments to the team’s code base working both individually and collaboratively. This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Maintenance and servicing our analytics prototyping systems, written in Python.

  • Assisting analysts in making relevant live dashboards using our data pipeline infrastructure, working for example with:

    • Object modelling (sklearn, tensorflow etc)

    • Automated testing

    • Performance optimisation (Numpy, parallel-processing etc).

    • Interface development using DASH and/or React.JS

The Person:

  • Experience and understanding of Python programming

  • Have worked on web development and be familiar with CSS

  • Knowledge of OOP, Software Architecture, Patterns and GIT

  • Know how to communicate with colleagues

  • Have a strong drive for obtaining knowledge on energy markets

  • Be studying in the field of the exact sciences (IT, Mathematics, Econometrics, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or similar).
